Laurence Greenwood, M.D.
Dr. Laurence Greenwood is the Medical Director of Alek’s House. He obtained his M.D. from Case-Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland Ohio, in 1968. He completed his Psychiatry residency in 1972 at the University of Cleveland. Following his residency, Dr. Greenwood worked on a research unit at National Institute of Health in Bethesda for two years. Since then Dr. Greenwood has held a number of positions in private and public psychiatry including a Mental Health Clinic in Colorado for six years. He was then in private practice in Rockville, Maryland for fifteen years followed by another six years at the Psychiatric Institute of Washington working with adults. Dr. Greenwood began to work part-time at Links, Inc. in 2003 and subsequently became the Medical Director at Alek’s House, LLC in 2008. His extensive experience has enabled him to take care of a broad variety of patients, adults, adolescents and children. His primary focus is providing optimal psychiatric care including prescribing medication and medication management. He has taken care of patients with Depression, Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Psychosis, ADHD, Behavior Problems and Substance Abuse.
